Education Minister Returns From Trip to Chile

Ms parata’s visit built by the terribly successful trip prime minister john key made in march. Ms parata addressed the 13th national education seminar organised by libertad y desarrollo in santiago, that was attended by over a regular, 000 teachers from public schools, principals, country school managers, educationalists, and different key sector stakeholders.

Ms parata’s presentation was on ‘the keys to public education success in new zealand.our education system possesses a range of keys to its success together with self-managing schools governed by oldsters, a highly qualified, highly skilled, highly trusted teaching profession, a bicultural and bilingual national curriculum, quality review and analysis, as well as a robust qualifications framework.

The new zealand education system is held in high regard by chile and of course the educators i spoke to were extremely inquisitive about how we recruit, train and develop our teachers, our qualifications framework, how our education review office works and just what role oldsters play in your education system.

Ms parata conjointly spoke to over 100 educators for the analysis centre, fundacion chile, on ‘professional development of educators in new zealand : the secret to a globally high performing education system. ’
like new zealand, chile recognises that raising teaching quality and leadership is crucial to raising achievement, and building skills and pathways to success are essential. ministers were notably interested in your qualifications framework and just how we assure quality. ’’

Ms parata met with chile’s minister of education carolina schmidt and invited chile in the international summit by the teaching profession that new zealand is hosting in march next year. the summit involves the 25 top performing education systems within the whole oecd, and of course the 5 fastest rising. chile is one of the on your 5 fastest rising.

Ms parata conjointly met when using the minister of economy, development and tourism, felix de vicente and announced a fresh exchange programme which should see seven 15 and 16 year-old spanish language students from new zealand travel to santiago later this year.

The flying kiwis programme has also been developed in response in the highly-successful chilean government-sponsored penguins while not borders programme, that was piloted in new zealand this year, and saw forty chilean students arrived at new zealand to live and study for 2 terms in the very 1st few half on your year. another 100 students can arrive later this year. it's nice we have the profit of those programmes each in new zealand, as well as for new zealand students now able to study in santiago.

Ms parata conjointly met with chile’s minister of labour, evelyn matthei and minister of agriculture, luis mayol and discussed vocational coaching and its role in increasing productivity, youth transition services, opportunities for mapuche indigenous peoples to connect with iwi development initiatives, and of course the nz qualifications framework.

I feel sharing data about new zealand initiatives and sharing new zealand expertise and services will surely be of valuable worth to each our countries. there may be a huge respect for new zealand as well as a good amount of appreciation regarding the prime ministers visit, and of course the serious attention we are giving in the relationship between our countries.
